The whole watch is dark black with only different finishes to the black; brushed mat and shiny. In bright light you can see the details on this watch, in dim light you can only see the hour marks and the 3 hands everything else is a shade of black. This is a very tactical stealth watch.

Moreover, this isn't a bad watch, the luminescent technology is excellent but be aware that this watch is NOT steel-cased , it’s Carbon Reinforced Polyester construction , neither it is sapphire glass, it is hardened mineral, (inexpensive version). For most people, it's more desirable to have a mineral casing for durability because if you were in a military, I imagine that would be pretty important. Glass doesn't scratch as easily but is susceptible to shattering upon impact. So take that for what it's worth. Luminox do make PVD coated steel ones as well, but they are relatively more expensive (not this model).
