toughest dive watches
One things for sure I’m not a diver, but for some "unusual" reason, I am attracted to dive watches. The design and technology of the watch sometimes amaze me. One of the best reasons for having divers watches, is that they happen to be among the toughest and sturdy watches. These kinds of remarkably specialized watches are tend to designed with performance first on the watchmaker's top priority list. That Simply because as a watch is subjected to greater depth level performance, the tougher it has to be to ensure secure operation in a pressurized environment.

As far as I know, there is quite strict standard that a diver watch must be qualify to be a certified diving watch. For example, all genuine and authentic diver watches must comply with ISO 6425 testing procedure such as condensation test, deep test, thermal shock testing, etc, meaning that the watch will hold up under extreme underwater condition . It’s much the same with standard watches for military.

Even divers aren't wearing dive watches anymore.
Even though my water adventures never go beyond beach snorkel or just take a nice swim in local water park with my kids, but like as many watch lovers I know, most dive watches don’t get too much aquatic action (strange isn't it.). Yeah.. sometimes we wearing it while takes a morning shower or get wet during heavy rainstorm, however, most dive watches are used for daily activities. Sure, some watches boast durability, others luxury or even practicality. However, some people use the cheapest watches you can buy as long as they are good enough for the depth they are diving. Personally, I cannot afford a watch in the price ranges that most of the divers watches usually offers. But for me, I think I could spend dive watch about $450 to $550 or so.

For your reference, here’s a look at five of the best tough diving watches around. And don't forget to considered several things before you decided to choose a dive watch.

The first ever Frogman released was the DW-6300 in 1993. The Frogman models are the only G-Shock ISO certified for scuba diving. As far as I know G-Shocks are not advertised as dive watches, because they are not ISO rated.Only the Frogman is ISO rated for 200m water resistance. This does not mean G-Shocks are not good for scuba diving, they are 20 bar water resist, only not certified, so they can keep the price down.

Dive watches relatively don't have to cost a fortune but a watch made specifically for diving will be a little more expensive then one that isn't and it's definitely will look cool when you wear it.
